  1. The Titanic alternate ending just baffled me. The original was fine, just visuals and music to convey the story. I’m glad someone stepped in and stopped James Cameron from putting the alternate ending in.

  2. How could you not mention Brazil’s (Thankfully) cut version that they wanted to force on that amazing movie?

  3. That ending to Little Shop of Horrors was in the musical it was based off of. Would having plant versions of Seymour and Audrey sing “We’ll have tomorrow” make it less dour? I personally like to believe that the chorus trio went on to kill the head Audrey II, saving the world, because of how mysterious they seem throughout.

  4. I know The alternate ending to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World alot of people preferred Scott ending up with Knives but for me it would have been creepy as hell…she’s still 17…if she turned 18 that would have been different.

  5. The Nightmare Before Christmas:

Original: Jack gets in time to save Santa Claus and Sally from Oogie Boogie, he defeats him by tearing a seam and Oogie’s insects all fall into a boiling liquid.

Alternate: Jack sneaks into Oogie Boogie’s lair and manages to scare off Lock, Shock and Barrel, who were watching Oogie torturing Sally and Santa Claus. Jack gets in time to save both characters, he defeats Oogie by tearing a seam and… the cloth drops to reveal Dr. Finklestein underneath in an exosuit. The reason? He wanted to punish Sally for being free-willed and he grew tired of her escapades, including to show her feelings for Jack. In the end, he simply gives up and leave the lair with Igor, leaving everyone a little… confused, before the Mayor finds them.

The alternate ending would have explained how the kids got to the Mayor in order to save Jack and Sally, but that would have NOT explained why the kids served Dr. Finklestein in disguise, why was he holding Santa Claus hostage and why was Oogie Boogie a myth… not to mention that Jack asked him to create skeletal reindeers. Although, during “This is Halloween”, Oogie Boogie is seen as a shadow, but not Dr. Finklestein.

  6. Brazil
    The Butterfly Effect

  7. DroopyAsteroid88

In the original ending of Jaws, instead of Roy Scheider blowing up the shark as it’s coming to the sinking boat, the shark dies of a heart attack.

  8. Conquest of the Planet of the Apes had an alternate ending where the evil human Governor and his staff was killed by the gorillas at Caesar’s command. At the time it was considered too dark and was edited out. It wasn’t to recently that they restored it.

  9. You need to see Racing Stripes Alternate Ending Stripes and Sandy had a baby

  10. Devil's Advocate

I don’t see the problem with either ending to Titanic. the hunt for the diamond was motivated purely by greed and giving it switching gears and giving it to charity at that point would only serve to make the people involved feel better about what they did to the resting place of the Titanic victims and not a genuine act of kindness.

  11. I haven’t heard of a lot of these endings. I love Looney Toons: Back in Action. I don’t think I would have liked the alternate ending. I didn’t mind Amazing Spiderman 2. I think that alternate ending would have broken me though. I like Independence Day. I think I would have liked the alternate ending even more. I would have laughed my friggin butt off. I Am Legend freaked me out as a kid for some reason. I think I like the theatrical version more. My rule of thumb: At least one hero has to survive and/or be happy for me to like it. Although, I haven’t seen Dr. Strangelove, Die Hard With a Vengeance, Clerks, Army of Darkness, Little Shop of Horrors, or Alien: Resurrection. Funny story: I have never gotten to finish Titanic because the one day I tried to watch it, I happened to get food poisoning.

  12. The original ending to the 1st Vacation film. In the final film version Clark holds a security guard hostage and go on the rides. In the original ending, he goes to Roy Wally’s home and force him to have fun.

  13. I knew that “I’m the legend” would be number uno.

For strange coincedence, I was watching alternative endings today xD.

Surprised not to see the ending of Scott Pilgrim.

  14. Yeah the Number one pick is spot on. I wished they’d kept that ending.

  15. I’m surprised the alternate ending to Star Trek: Generations wasn’t in there.

  16. The I Am Legend theatrical ending pissed me the fuck off

  17. I’m pretty sure we all saw the #1 movie on this list coming. I still hate the movie with all my heart, though, because of the unneeded death of a certain animal in it.

  18. There is One Alternate Ending you forgot STAR TREK II THE WRATH OF KHAN!!! Yeah this ending actually pretty much the same from the original cut expect for two different The Mind-meld (Remember) and the mono-log at the end of the film the reason for these changes is Actor himself and thought it will actually kill Star Trek forever if Spock Remained dead so yeah that’s a WTF moment

  19. The Director’s Cut of Terminator 2 had a few little differences In the theatrical version, the T800 just had a learning computer. In the director’s cut, his free Will was switched off and Sarah and John have the chance to turn it on, but also argue about whether they should turn on the Free Will or just kill him there and then.
the T1000 also kills a dog.
But the biggest difference is the ending, it’s a flash foreward to an alternate future with no terminators, it contradicts everything and is too Rainbows and Lollypops for a terminator movie.

  20. Lord of the Rings – Aragorn fights Sauron in one on one combat. (they kept the footage and replaced him with a Cave Troll)

  21. Superman II. In the alternate version. Superman knocks Zod and company into the Abyss in the Fortress. However after that he goes flying around the planet again. Sending Zod and company back into the phantom zone that we saw them in the original Superman movie.

  22. lilith_ascennding

Okay, I’m going to go on a bit of a rant here, so bear with me. The “alternate ending” to the Little Shop of Horrors movie is actually the original ending to the play it’s based off of. As you can guess, this ending did not go over well with the audience and so a “happier” ending was shot and released with the theatrical edition. As someone who has seen both versions of the Little Shop of Horrors movies (the one from the 1960’s directed by Roger Corman and the 1986 one) and the musical, I’m a very passionate fan of the story. Frankly, I find the ending to the 80’s movie insulting. Yeah, I’ll admit that the plant is my favorite character and I was more than a little upset when he was killed in the film, but what insults me more is that it breaks the chain of killing off Seymour. Seymour has died in every version of the story up until the 80’s version and while it sucks that this has to happen to such a sweet guy, I think it’s overall the point of the story. It’s a comedic tragedy about letting one’s ambition (however innocent it may be) and greed consume them and thus destroying not only themselves but everything and everyone that they love. So I find it insulting that they had to dumb down the ending so that the audience could get a phoned in happy ending. Not every musical ends with sunshine and roses and unfortunately, Little Shop of Horrors is one of those plays. Okay, rant over.

  23. Final Destination! The original ending is surprisingly mature and calmer.

  24. Surprised “Brazil” wasn’t in there. Like “I Am Legend”, the theatrical ending is the WTF one.

  25. Didn’t clue have, like many alternate endings?

  26. Can you talk about the MTV series Good Vibes and Daria?

On a side note, I mention this all before, why don’t you review a classic horror like this one I’ve finally found after all these years after just seeing a few scenes of it and never knowing how it ended. It’s called Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. You might like it. Maybe.

Also what do think of these TV series shows called:
    John Doe
    Forever Knight
    The Misfits (British Show)
Misfits of Science (Movie and series)
    and The Zeta Project
(I think some of these shows are like Sonic the Hedgehog a.k.a. Sonic Sat a.m. They all have incomplete ending.)

P.S. Is there anyway you can review the Japanese versions of Ironman, Wolverine, X-men and Blade? I’d also really like to hear what you think about the FX series Archer and Chozen.

P.S.S. And I never found out if you were going talk more about the Disney Afternoon shows Gummi Bears, Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Talespin(even the hour uncut movie special I found about it) and Darkwing Duck. Also you never answer my question, If you hate the Goof Troop song: “Gotta Be Gettin’ Goofy” then does that mean you hate The Darkwing Duck Rap?

  27. I still prefer the new ending to Little Shop Of Horrors. I loves the characters since I was 7. I learned character development from that movie ever since.

  28. I have to mention The Watcher in the Woods here. Originally, the film was going to follow the path of the book that it was based on an have the Watcher be revealed to be an alien being that’s trying to reunite Karen with her mother, although in the film version, the Watcher actually took the female lead to its crashed spaceship to free Karen from the state of suspended animation that she is trapped in. Unfortunately, Disney had to rush the film for the its original release date, with the scenes set in the UFO unfinished, resulting in an original theatrical ending that had more questions than answers. Because of this, Disney pulled the film from theaters after a disappointing limited release in New York City, and delayed the official wide release for 1 1/2 years in order to come up with the ending that appears at in the final version of the film.

  29. Fun Fact: The original ending for Little Shop of Horrors is the ending of the stage musical that the film is based on. The darkness of the original ending didn’t sit well with test audiences (Director Frank Oz suspected that was because there isn’t a curtain call for movies.), so they changed it to the happier ending of the theatrical cut.

  30. just alternative ending i think are missing

    – Terminator 2’s happy ending
    – The lion King 2 Zira Suicide
