My favorite Christopher Nolan movies are 1. Inception, 2. The Dark Knight, 3. Batman Begins, 4. Interstellar, and 5. The Dark Knight Rises. I can’t believe my list was so similar to your list. O.O Actually, those are the only Christopher Nolan movies that I’ve seen. I have never seen Memento or The Prestige but I might want to see The Prestige. I actually saw The Dark before Batman Begins and I didn’t find out that it was a trilogy until The Dark Knight Rises came out. Haha.
When Batman Begins came out, the horrendous memories of Batman Forever and Batman and Robin were still in my mind. I think at the time I wasn’t quite ready for another Batman film. It was a few years later before I finally gave it a watch. But Begins and The Dark Knight are two of my favorite films, let alone superhero films.
TDKR was a disappointment. By that time, it felt like it was just following formulae from the first two, and that it was missing an opportunity to really open up the world of Gotham.
As much as I like Inception and other Christopher Nolan movies, Interstellar is still my favorite. I also mean not only favorite Nolan movie, but the favorite movie.
While looking for info on the film, I found an interesting article about how Nolan and physicist Kip Thorne built simulation models of black holes in an attempt to try to analyze what one might actually look like.
Meh. Inception was stupid and weak. As a lucid dreamer myself it was just silly and pointless from end to end, and on top of that pretentious about its own stupidity.
