Was Tiny Toons Written by Kids?

Believe it or not there was a time when a Tiny Toons episode was written by 13 year olds. How did it happen?

  1. so it was true than.

    yeah finally first comment šŸ˜€

  2. Why does the video keep resetting? Is that just me? Never happened before and I’m on my home computer, not a phone.

  3. How fitting that your next video will be about commercials, considering that The dark day of capitalism is closing in..
Also I really like those episodes.

  4. Now you have to unearth the backstory behind the Dexter’s Laboratory episode Dexter and Computress Get Mandark!

    • I would have suggested doing an editorial on Dexter’s Rude Removal myself, but I’ve seen a few of those from animation reviewers, so I’d be okay with him not covering that.

      • That one isn’t really as relevant. Besides the reason that episode got banned isn’t nearly as dubious as PPG’s See Me Feel Me Gnomey which has at least three different possible reasons and due to the lack of global ban and inclusion in the DVD release, the most obvious one is actually exceptionally unlikely.

  5. Is there anyway you can review the Japanese versions of Ironman, Wolverine, X-men and Blade?

Can you also talk about the MTV series Good Vibes and Daria?

And on a side note, I mention this all before, why don’t you review a classic horror like this one I’ve finally found after all these years after just seeing a few scenes of it and never knowing how it ended. It’s called Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. You might like it. Maybe.

Also what do think of these TV series shows called:
    John Doe
    Forever Knight
    The Misfits (British Show)
Misfits of Science (Movie and series)
    and The Zeta Project
(I think some of these shows are like Sonic the Hedgehog a.k.a. Sonic Sat a.m. They all have incomplete ending.)

P.S. Is there anyway you can review the Japanese versions of Ironman, Wolverine, X-men and Blade? I’d also really like to hear what you think about the FX series Archer and Chozen.

P.S.S. And I never found out if you were going talk more about the Disney Afternoon shows Gummi Bears, Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Talespin(even the hour uncut movie special I found about it) and Darkwing Duck. Also you never answer my question, If you hate the Goof Troop song: ā€œGotta Be Gettin’ Goofyā€ then does that mean you hate The Darkwing Duck Rap?

Aw, look at that. He thinks if he keeps copying and pasting the same irrelevant comment week after week and wishes really hard, then Doug will one day read it and put everything he’s doing on hold so he can personally review his gaggle o’ requests, even though most of them are things Doug has never expressed any great interest in and are outside of field of fandom and expertise. That’s adorable.

  6. Thanks for the non-episode that I could have found in Wikipedia with no effort.

  7. prime-10@hotmail.co.uk

I do not like this video.

  8. Well, Jim Shooter wrote his first Legion of Super heores story when he was fourteen… In 1966…

  9. COMMERCIALS!!!!!!

  10. *Sees the Shirt* Simpsons Movie?

    • Wait, just out of curiosity, have you never seen the commercial episodes before? Because that’s the shirt he wears for every single one of those. Though on that note, I would love to see him tackle The Simpsons Movie. Seeing as he’s such a huge fan of the show, I’d love to hear his thoughts on it.

    • The Real Silverstar

Um, are you new? That’s the shirt he wears for his commercial review episodes. He’s done several of them already.

    • No, that’s the T-shirt he always wears when he does his Nostalgic commercials reviews. He’s been doing that since the very first one. I’m guessing that you haven’t seen them. You should check them out.

  11. If Arthur can have an episode based on a fan’s story idea (The Contest), why not Tiny Toons?

  12. Oh come on this episode is basically an advertisement for this writers books. I bet she creates great content, but the way the NC rubs every guests product into your face is getting really annoying. If you add the charity shout out (I’m not american so it’s not my fault that you privatized basic health care and made those in need into beggers), then this episode is just 60% asking people for money and the rest just feels like a cheap excuse to get to that 60%.

    • Such a kind soul you have and your parents have taught you well on lessons in empathy.

      • I don’t consider it kind to support a system of privatized welfare and glorifying it instead of demanding a system that provides for these things without forcing people in need into the position of beggers.
These charity shout outs are nothing but a way to polish your image and to frame yourself as a “kind soul”.
Especially the wealthy like being seen as kind, when they are in fact forcing the less fortunate to be dependent on their “kindness”.
Thats why I’m saying these “charity shout outs” are more of a political statement than a good deed, that’s why I’m calling them advertisment.

    • It’s his show, if he wants to use his airtime to promote someone’s work, that’s his prerogative. No one’s forcing you to watch it nor the charity shout outs. The U.S. health care system isn’t Doug’s fault either. If you don’t have to deal with it, consider yourself lucky.

      • Sure he can, I didn’t deny that, I’m just giving him my opinion on this episode. If you read my comment again I never told him to stop or change his content, just that I have some problems with it. That’s what the comment section is for, right? To give feedback that he can use to improve his show, or ignore it when he is not intrested in appealing to this certain demographic.
It’s not just there to praise his work and if he is not interested in honest feedback, he shouldn’t have a comment section to begin with.

        • Similarly, just because Doug chooses to do charity shout-outs doesn’t mean that you have to watch them. You always have the option to skip them. Just stop the video after the review part is over if you’ve got such a big problem with it.

  13. I remember this. They featured the girls in a special episode.

  14. Definitely more likely today. Have you heard of the Season Five episode of MLP:FIM called “Slice of Life”? It was basically one gigantic love letter to the fandom where they took ten or so fancanon things and made them showcanon. They even alluded to some of the darker fandom pieces in that one.

    • Really? The darkest thing I remember them alluding to was a reference to Llamas With Hats (I cooked them up, and ate them) rather than anything like The Conversion Bureau or Cupcakes. They shipteased Octavia and Vinyl, got as close as they could to canonizing Lyrabon without getting themselves banned in Russia, had a ton of Derpy interacting with Whooves (who they gave several Doctor Who related shoutouts mixed in with being pony Doc Brown) and a bit more of the previously established background references like the Lebowski crew. Oh, and the twilicane, Berry Punch carrying around a barrel of -wine- GRAPE JUICE, and a literal panda bugbear.

  15. There were a couple episodes of Adventure Time that featured a fan-made character. Jake Vs. Me-Mow and another episode with Me-Mow I can’t remember the name of. And all the AT gender-swapped episodes with Fionna and Cake and all…. That idea came from fan art. But I’m not sure I’ve heard of an entire episode of something written by fans/kids. That’s a pretty neat opportunity.

  16. That was delightful! I’m glad that she was willing to come on and talk about her experience. It’s great when entertainers bring fans, especially children, behind the scenes not only to see but be involved in the process; I’m happy that RenĆ©e was given such a chance.

  17. This was a nice change of pace. I didn’t grow up with Tiny Toons though so I don’t have much to say. Another thing though: Was NC really in an anime? If so, what anime? One last thing: I CAN’T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK! YAY!

  18. I’m too old and too cool for this shit.

  19. very awesome…also COMMERCIALSSSSSSSSS ALDKFJSD:LFJSDL:KFJ

  20. Okay! The Nostalgia Critic and AVGN were in an anime? Which one?!

    • The Unlimited: Hyobu Kyosuke, aka, Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited, episode 5 to be exact, though they only randomly appear in the background for a few seconds.

  21. That was really cool to see! I honestly wasn’t expecting that going into this episode. Even if the title is SOMEWHAT click bait (since he only talked about ONE episode, not the entire series), this was a lot of fun to see! I’m so happy for that lady and the experience she got to go through. What a feel-good moment! All these people in the comments hating on this are seriously assholes.

  22. Maybe this video wouldn’t get as much negative attention if was properly labeled as an interview… >.>

It might not get as many views but if it’s made clear that NC and not Doug was hosting the interview in the video name it’d probably get more views.

  23. Eh, fan contributions to official media seem like a distant memory these days (save for crowdfunding bonuses and anything related to Valve Software, who have always been a huge exception when it comes to a lot of things these days anyway). It seems more like people who work on shows are contributing more to fan media instead. I mean, you have people like Derrik J. Wyatt and several members of the MLPFiM production staff actively participating in fandoms of the stuff they work in. Like how Wyatt actively RPs with the fanbases, mostly the Transformers one and how Applebloom’s VA Michelle Creber makes music with fan musician Gabriel “Black Gryph0n” Brown and former storyboard artist Sabrina “Sibsy” Alberghetti and fan musician Andy “MandoPony” Stein even got married.

  24. Blaze The Movie Fan

This is interesting, very interesting indeed.

  25. I don’t remember this episode! I thought I was so familiar with the show. It was so cool how you had her there. A pity the Skype quality is bad. Hey, you showed that anime scene. Why aren’t you into anime?!

    • The Real Silverstar

      “Why aren’t you into anime?!”

A little thing called Freedom of Choice. Everyone on the planet doesn’t have to be into the same things. If everyone felt the same way about everything, then life would be boring since there’d be no variety.

  26. LEt’s hope MLP doesn’t do that with the fans…all Hell will be loose!

  27. Honore de Ballsack

only one Tiny Toons ep was written by kids?

  28. I bet it was not hard work at all for those three preteen girls 25 years ago Critic or Doug.

  29. I mean how hard it is to write or draw a single, tv cartoon episode even if by sheer accident especially back then when kids were supposed to be smarter or have some more talent pre-Internet days? Besides these girls were thirteen, it’s no Wunderkind Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart writing Classicism Classical music notes at the age of five. Anybody can do that if they put their mind to it especially if they are cartoon fans to begin with, I could probably write screenplays with my eyes closed if they (the professional studios or creative schools or my parents and grandparents) let me and attend there.

  30. Very good
    Did not know this
